Orville Edwin Lytle

Orville “Bud” Edwin Lytle, 92, of Basehor, KS formerly of Wichita, KS passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehab. Orville was born October 1, 1928 in Salina, Kansas to the late Gilbert and Eula Lytle. At the end of WWII Bud enlisted in the Army, after his discharge, Bud returned home and graduated from Haven Rural High School. In December of 1949, Bud married Vivian Lee Todd. Shortly after his wedding, Bud was called back to active duty to serve during the Korean War. Bud returned from the war and earned a degree in business administration from the Municipal University of Wichita in 1953. He worked as a claims adjuster and real estate appraisier before starting a career with Western Auto. His career with Western Auto lasted over 25 years, he retired in 1991 from the Salina Western Auto store. While living in Wichita, Bud enjoyed singing with a local Barber Shop Chorus. Bud is preceded in death by a son, Dwight Lytle; his second wife Norma Snow; 3rd wife Hattie Wood, and longtime friend and companion Lou Ann McFerson; four sisters, Constance Owens; Betty Coburn; Iona Coiner; Arlette Brink and his brother, Jesse Lytle. He is survived by his sons, David Lytle and wife Carol; Bruce Lytle and wife Debbie; daughter, Denise Matthews and husband Ben; brother, Robert Lytle and wife Patsy; sister Susan Humphrey and husband Selmer; two granddaughters, Susan Peters and husband Ben; Samantha Leisinger and husband Ethan; four grandsons, Jon Lytle, Eric Lytle and wife Melissa, Curtis Payne, Michael Payne; three great granddaughters, Emma Peters, Lily Peters, Hannah Peters and a great grandson Case Payne.
