Pamela Jo Reeves, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. A celebration of life for Pam will start at 2 p.m. Friday July 2nd at the Amos Family Funeral Home, and in true Pam fashion, she will arrive a little late. The family will receive friends following the service. Pam was born May 28, 1952, to the late Ira and Josephine Morgan in Kansas City, MO. A lifelong resident of Overland Park, KS she graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Baker University in 1973. After college, Pam started a 32-year career in education, focusing in the areas of elementary and special education and serving in supervisory roles for programs like the Success For All reading program. Her teaching career included schools in KCMO, Baldwin City, KCK and Turner School District. During this time, she went on to earn her Master of Science in Special Education from the University of Kansas, Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University and Master of Science in School Leadership from Baker University. After retiring from a long and satisfying career as an educator in 2006, Pam began her second career as a counselor, starting her own practice and spending the last 15 years helping guide children and families through life. Pam was very social and garnered a large group of friends. She loved traveling and family get togethers where she always organized the games.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce Roth. She is survived by her son, Ryan Reeves and wife Amy; a sister, Paula Fritschen and husband Michael; two brothers, Dennis Morgan and Randy Morgan and wife Debbie; two grandchildren, Mason and Brynlee Reeves, as well as a foster child, Anne Cotner, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved pup, Jordie.
