Pamela Sue Turner, EdD, 72, Shawnee, KS passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at AdventHealth Medical Center, Merriam, KS. Memorial visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Wednesday, Aug. 17 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Thursday, Aug. 18 at Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Pam was born Oct. 15, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Clarence and Virginia (Davies) Broom. She attended Merriam Grade School, Shawnee Mission North High School (1968), MidAmerica Nazarene College (1972) UMKC (1984), and earned her EdD at Baker University, (2015). She was an educator in the Louisburg, Bonner Springs and Leavenworth School Districts.
On September 22, 1984 she married Micheal R. Turner at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS. They traveled extensively. Her last trip was a safari in Africa.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Micheal in 2013. She is survived by her sister, Cynthia (George) Barta; nephews, Ryan Barta and Erich Barta, all of Shawnee, KS; Aunt Shirley Davies of Leawood, Kansas, her puppies, Kate and Pippa, and a host of friends.
Pam was an amazing person of great faith who read and studied the Bible daily. She was a gifted educator who loved to teach, learn, and travel the world. The sense of loss for all who knew her is immense, we are blessed for the time we shared with her, grateful for the joy and love she brought to all our lives, and know she will always be watching over us from heaven. We love her and will dearly miss her.
