Patricia Rose (Rum) Charlier

Patricia Rose Rum, fondly known by most as “Pat,” was born to Italian and Filipino parents on July 11, 1931. She lived her entire life in the Greater Kansas City area, graduating from Northeast High School and attending business college before her marriage to Gene Charlier. As they raised their three children, Pat instilled in each of them a heart to serve others with kindness and generosity as she included them in visits to elderly, shut-in neighbors or those who needed encouragement. Throughout her life she sought to make others feel valued and loved, whether through a handmade gift or the gift of her time and attention. She reflected her Heavenly Father’s love as she made each one feel they mattered and were important to Him. Pat could often be caught snapping photos of others, especially the smiling faces of children, in addition to God’s handiwork in her flower garden. Her strong faith in the Lord, spunky character, and kind heart touched the lives of many around her, as evidenced by the many cards and hugs she received throughout the years.

Pat entered into the presence of her beloved Lord on February 6, 2023, at the age of 91, following a period of declining health. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Morgan (TX), and Mickie Charlier (CO), four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, as well as her loving sister, Carmen Rum (KS). She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascual and Rose Rum; a brother, Pascual Rum; and a son, Randy Charlier.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, February 11 (10:30 am), at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene, 5539 Quivira Road, Shawnee, KS.

Pat’s family deeply appreciates the many expressions of loving concern, beautiful flowers, faithful prayers, and shared stories which have given them much comfort.
