Patricia Guyer

March 13, 1945 — February 8, 2025

Kansas City

Patricia "Pat" Carol Guyer, a kind and warm-hearted soul known for her giving nature and infectious smile, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on March 13, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Henry Paulsen and Velma Como, and Pat's stepfather Pete Como. She spent her final days surrounded by family in Kansas City, Missouri, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Pat devoted much of her career to customer service, where she worked for thirty years at Nazdar. Her dedication and cheerful demeanor left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Beyond her professional life, Pat found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid crafter, a passionate flower gardener, and delighted in feeding birds. Her love for reading was shared with fellow bookworms at her book club. Pat was also a cherished member of the Coffee Walk/Talk group and the Red Hat Society, where she formed enduring friendships.

Pat is preceded in death by her father, Henry Paulsen; mother, Velma Como; stepfather, Pete Como; and brother, John Paulsen. Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family: her sister, Ann Ryder; son, Chris Guyer; daughter, Trisha Davis; granddaughter, Ashley Livengood; great-granddaughters, Kalayla, Owen, and Victoria; and nieces and nephews, Terry, Matt, David, and Teresa. Beyond immediate family, Pat also 'adopted' a number of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout her life, and she maintained a close friendship with her ex-husband, Gaylord Guyer, his second wife, Kathy, and their three children, Jason, Heidi, and Joshua. To her survivors, she loved all of them.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Pat's life will be held on February 22, 2025, from 10:00am to noon with a time of sharing starting at 11:30 at Amos Family Funeral Home, located at 10901 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS 66203. Her family invites all who knew her to join in remembering the joy, warmth, and laughter she brought into the lives of many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pat's name to a charity of choice, as a tribute to her generous spirit. Pat will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
