Patricia Elaine Krehbiel

Patricia Elaine Krehbiel passed away April, 17, 2012 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born on May 23, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Lowell and Alma Turner. Patricia graduated from Brentwood High School. She attended the University of Missouri and afterwards lived in New London, Connecticut, for five years where she gave birth to the light of her life, her son, Scott. Returning to the midwest, Pat set up permanent residence in Shawnee, Kansas. Always having a thirst for knowledge she attended the University of Kansas and received a Master's degree in nursing and a nurse practitioners license.

Patricia worked at the Lipid Clinic at KU Medical Center in the 1980s until the mid-1990s. She then worked at Quintiles for a number of years before becoming the Manager of Quality Assurance for Ausbio Pharmaceuticals. She enjoyed her job and the traveling that went along with it and made lasting friendships. She was able travel to all parts of the world with her job and enjoyed those adventures very much.

Patricia had many hobbies. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching her flowers bloom throughout the summer in her garden. She loved collecting art and beautiful things for her home. Cooking gourmet food was an enjoyable pastime for her. New York was one of her favorite places to visit and she loved going to Broadway theater productions.

Time with her two grandsons, Jack and Tom, were her most joyous. She loved cooking, reading, fishing, and playing games with them most of all. She would drop everything to devote her full attention to them and they will miss her greatly. She and Scott enjoyed collecting bird feeders and cactus together. They had a very special relationship that was full of love and admiration for one another. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate soul who will be missed.

She is survived by her son, Scott, his wife Kelly, and two grandsons, Jack and Tom of Shawnee. She also leaves behind her brother Lowell, of St. Louis and sister, Judy, of Labadie, Missouri.

A Remembrance Luncheon will be held at the home of Scott and Kelly Krehbiel, 24203 W. 50th Street, Shawnee, Kansas, on Saturday April, 28, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.. Words of Remembrance will be at 12:30 p.m. Please bring any favorite memories of Pat for the Memory Basket. All family and friends are welcome.
