Patrick John Campbell

November 6, 1922 — June 24, 2017

Patrick John Campbell, 94, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. Patrick was born November 6, 1922 in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania to Paul and Rachel Campbell. Our favorite memories of dad: He loved Glen Miller and Frank Sinatra music and dancing with his beloved wife. He kept pictures of Margie by his favorite chair to gaze at with endearing thoughts for the past 12 years. His incredible work ethics that he passed on to his daughters to always work hard and do your best. He would always say “You get out of life what you put into it.” Dad was proud to be a Marine and serve his country. He was also very proud that he learned to fly. His first solo flight was on April 1, 1948. He made many sacrifices for Marcia and Judy to go to college. He didn’t even get to finish high school because he went off to war and had to earn a living to support his mom and sisters. On our family vacation to Yellowstone, he wanted to take us fishing, but wasn't a fisherman. He gave each of us a candy bar for breakfast and took us trout fishing. None of us knew what we were doing, our lines were all tangled, but we caught fish! He loved dogs and especially loved hunting with his Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and his German Short Hair Pointer. He was proud of his purchase of the family boat, the Annalee. He was always taking us to the lake to water ski. He wasn’t happy unless someone was behind the boat skiing. He loved his “brown” water. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren, they were the love of his life. Survivors include his daughters, Marcia (Trill) Hunter and Judy Simonson, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, sisters, Delores and Nancy.
