Patsy Lorraine Riddell

Patsy Lorraine (Laffey) Riddell, 72, beloved wife, mom, grandma, and sister passed away Monday, June 27, 2016. Pat was born July 26, 1943 in Jamesport, MO to Mack and Lillian Laffey. She was a graduate of Jameson High School, Jameson, MO. Pat married Dale G. Riddell on Sept. 2, 1962, in Kidder, MO and then relocated to Shawnee, KS. Pat was a devoted mother who dedicated her time to raising her three children. She began her career as a school secretary later in life and worked for the Shawnee Mission School District for almost 30 years. Pat loved to work with her hands and loved to garden and plant flowers. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to sew, quilt, embroider, knit and crochet. She loved her dogs, Max and Molly and took them with her everywhere. She loved spending time with her family and 8 grandchildren more than anything. Her family will always remember her beautiful smile and wonderful hugs.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy Corbin. Survivors include her husband, Dale G. Riddell; three children, Christopher (Cynthia) Riddell, Shawnee, KS, Stephanie (Sean) Dalley, Mission, KS and Matthew (Jennifer) Riddell, Tonganoxie, KS; sister, Janice (Lyndell) Clevenger, Sunrise Beach, MO; and eight grandchildren, Melody, Nathan and Lilly Riddell, Jack and Liam Dalley, and Collin, Allee and Addalyn Riddell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Shawnee United Methodist Church; the burial will follow at the Shawnee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 am Saturday at the church.
