Paul Scurlock

Paul Scurlock, 86, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Sharon Lane Nursing Center, Shawnee, Kansas.

Paul was born October 3, 1923 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to Tenney and Martha (Bryant) Scurlock. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Paul was an honorary member of the Chamber of Commerce and a Master Gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sons and a daughter, Paul Scurlock, Jr., Erni Swimley, Jon Scurlock, Jack Scurlock and David Scurlock. Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Beach) Scurlock; daughter, Ja Hersh, Prairie Village, Kansas; son, Dan Scurlock, Rochester, New York; step-son, Carl Welch, Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister, Georgia Hartley, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside Service and Visitation

Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Cremation will follow the visitation.
