Pauline Irmajean Laman, 87, on Friday, August 10, 2012, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Pauline and her late husband, Mervin C. Laman, lived in Prairie Village, Kansas, for many years. She was born in Lamar, Colorado, on December 12, 1924, to Elmer and Inez Falk along with sisters Mary, Gertrude and Alice and brothers Elmer, Jr. and Donald. Pauline lived most of her childhood in Alma, Kansas, attended Kansas State University and taught school in Alma and several surrounding communities. She married Mervin C. Laman on December 22, 1945, and they resided in both Leavenworth and Topeka, Kansas, before eventually settling in Prairie Village.

A stay-at-home mother when her children were small, Pauline later became a Sales Associate at the Jones Store Co. and a Medical Assistant and Accounts Specialist at TWA. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, was First Lady of the Abdallah Shrine Temple in 1980 when her husband was Potentate and First Lady of the Central States Shrine Association in 1989 when her husband was its President.

Pauline is survived by her children, Carol and Bruce, her grandchildren, Michelle DuVall and Catherine Morecook, her great grandson, Michael Selby and her son-in-law Robert Morecook.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, and funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be on August 16, 2012, at the Alma City Cemetery.
