Pauline Selves, 95, of Lenexa, KS passed away peacefully on September 11th, 2021 at Lakeview Village. A private graveside service will take place at Lenexa Cemetery.
Born in 1926 to Mabel and Clarence Simcox, Pauline was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School. She always loved horses, and competed in rodeos as a young trick rider with her brothers and cousins. Pauline graduated from Kansas State University, and later taught home economics at Shawnee Mission Rural High School, where she met and married a fellow teacher, Arthur Selves. They were married in December of 1952.
In addition to raising her two daughters, Pauline worked with many young children at Mothers Day Out. Throughout her life, she was very creative, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. In 1998, Pauline and Art moved from their longtime home to a high-rise apartment at Lakeview Village, where they enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Art Selves, and by three of her brothers: Flavel, Don, and Kendall Simcox.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Janet and David Bartlett, and Wendy and Bob Ball, and by her brother Carl Simcox.
