Perry Daniel Rainey Jr.

Perry Daniel Rainey Jr. 79, departed this life on January 11, 2015. He was born November 19, 1935 in Middleton, Missouri to Perry Daniel Sr. and Fern Elizabeth Rainey. Perry married Nancy Jones on August 22, 1954 and were together for over 60 years. He graduated from Appleteon City, Missouri. He was the class president, captain of the football and basketball teams, and was an Eagle Scout. He began working for Russell Steel in 1956 and became owner in 1978 until his passing. Perry was an active member and State President of the Optimist Club. Perry loved fishing, genealogy, and was a proud gardener. Perry is survived by his wife, Nancy, sons; Mark (Theresa) Rainey, David (Tracy) Rainey, daughter, Kimla (Brad) Yost, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister, Roberta Prudden, brother, Russell Rainey. Services will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203. Burial will take place at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
