Peter Perez Sr.

Peter Perez, 94, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on December 25, 2023. He was born on August 22, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to Alberto and Maria Perez.

Peter dedicated over 30 years of his life working for Swift and Company before retiring. After retirement, he and his wife, Lucita Perez, opened St. Jude's Mexican restaurant on Southwest Boulevard. Peter also volunteered at Perez Food Products.

He was a talented musician and was a part of his father Alberto's family Mariachi band. He carried on the family tradition by forming The Sound Seekers band with his sons.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters Rita Trible and Antonia Willfong, and brothers Humberto Perez and Ascension Perez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucita Perez, and their children: Peter Perez Jr. (Rachel), Anthony Perez Sr. (Teresa), and Robert Perez Sr. (Monica). He was also a proud grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Peter is also survived by his siblings: Ralph Perez Sr., Teresa Canseco, Albert Perez Jr., Andrew Perez, Rachel Olivarez, and Jesse Perez Sr.

Peter was a devoted Catholic and worshiped at St. Agnes Parish. A rosary will be held at 8:45 am on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, followed by visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 and a Catholic Mass at 11:00 am. Peter will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
