Phyllis E. Graham, 81, passed away on July 16th, 2021 at the Kansas City Hospice House after battling a difficult illness. She had her companion, Terry Dockter, by her side.
Phyllis was born on June 21st, 1940 in Clay County, Kansas to Ira and Agnes James. She was the middle child of five children and enjoyed living in small town Kansas with her family. After graduating from Morganville High School in 1958, she met Raymond Graham and the two married shortly thereafter. Raymond worked for the Enron Corporation, so the two moved around the Midwest with his job for many years.
The couple was blessed with two children—Debra and Greg. Phyllis was a nurturing and caring mother, and enjoyed being a stay at home mom for a time before she started her work with the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. She retired with the postal service after 28 years. Phyllis enjoyed taking care of the home and hosting parties, gardening, and shopping! She loved to shop for clothing, home décor, and was always able to find a great bargain.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband and two children. She is survived by her loving companion of 11 years, Terry; 4 grandchildren David Graham, Lindsay Graham, Nicholas Allison, and Nicole Allison; 3 great-grandchildren Sophie, Evelyn, and Jameson; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends.
