Phyllis Jean Hanson, 76, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away October 9, 2013, at Garden Terrace Nursing Home.

Phyllis was born May 19, 1937, in Hubbard, Ohio, to Albert S. and Mary E. Trope. Phyllis graduated from Hubbard High School as class valedictorian in 1955. She received her education degree from Youngstown State University. She was a Member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gary; children: Kathryn Winegar (Steve), Mike Hanson (Sandy), Jeff Hanson (Elizabeth), Jeanine Mindrup (Aaron); siblings: Betty Ann Bosley, Al Trope (Bettie), and Richard Trope (Susan); and grandchildren: Natalie, Kyle, Molly, Sam, Alex, Charlie, Caroline, Quinton, Mara, and Logan.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
