Rachael Catherine Hugunin

Rachael Catherine Hugunin, 91, Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at her home.

Rachael was born June 27, 1923 in Shawnee, KS to Richard and Celina Van den Broecke. On May 2, 1942, Rachael married Jesse Hugunin at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, KS. Her passion in life was cooking and having an open door to anyone who needed her. She loved her garden and her family.

Rachael was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Hugunin; and three sons, Richard, Laurence and Roger Hugunin. Survivors include her five daughters, Ruth Ann Hartung, St. Louis, MO, Catherine Biggs, Jessica Hugunin, Judy Hugunin all of Overland Park, KS and Teresa Gardner, Merriam, KS; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27 at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home, where a rosary recitation will be at 7:00 p.m.
