Ray Klein, 91 passed on October 9th, 2021. He was born in Shawnee, Kansas on July 9th, 1930 to John and Rose Klein. He was one of 10 children and grew up on a farm, just west of 71st and Quivira Road. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Ray owned and operated Ray Klein Motors until retirement. He was an avid Chiefs fan and Red Coater for 50 years.
He loved the game of golf and usually played every Thursday and Saturday. Ray truly enjoyed his friends at Milburn Country Club. He ushered at St. Joseph Catholic Church for 45 years. He was past President of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and the Shawnee Lions Club. He also was a past Commander of the American Legion.
He leaves his wife Nancy of 54 years. His children, Mike (Kathy), Pat (Joyce), Paul (John), Shelley (Dan); grandchildren, Ryan (Shannon), Jessica (Stepehn), Michael (Rylie), Natalie (Terry), and Max; great-grandchildren, Alex and Ana; sister, Helen Dobbelaere and brother, Jim Klein; many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be immediately following the service at Resurrection Cemetery.
