Raymond J. Vallejo, 70, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away October 15, 2013.

Ray was born May 22, 1943, in Salina, Kansas, to James and Antonia Vallejo. He graduated from DeLaSalle Military Academy in 1960. He then received his BA from Avila University in 1979. Ray graduated from the Southern Police Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1977.

He attained the rank of Sergeant during his 26 year career with the Overland Park Police Department retiring in 1991. Ray then began training and worked as an airplane mechanic for Executive Beechcraft for 12 years.

Ray is survived by his wife of 21 years, Judi Vallejo; son Kenneth Prewett (Trish); daughters Leanne Lauritzen (Thad), Megan Murphy (Richard), and Becky Brown (Joe); 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Victor Vallejo;sister Victoria Conchola; as well as his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Memorial Service

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
