Reed Scott Ostrom

Reed S. Ostrom, 49, of Shawnee, went to his eternal home, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Reed was born October 4 1968 in Duluth, Minnesota.  He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1987.  After high school Reed attended Collin County Community College in Plano, TX and Johnson County Community College where he earned his Associate's degree.  Reed had a great love for the environment and being in the outdoors.  He enjoyed hiking, boating and sharing sunsets with family and friends.  Reed had a passion for music, drumming, sculpting, and woodworking.  He was always up for a road trip and tried to live by the mantra, "Live, Laugh, Love" and lived life to the fullest.  Reed is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, O.P. and Hilda Ostrom; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lois Powell; and uncle, David Powell.  He is survived by his mother, Pat Clark and husband Joe; father, Swede Ostrom and wife Darcy Maixner; two sons, Nicholas and Gabe Telken; a sister, Kelli Caffey and husband Curt; three nephews, Austen, Hayden and Jack Caffey; an uncle, O.P. Ostrom, Jr. and wife Char; two cousins Sharon Hatten and husband Mike; Andrea Powell and many other family and friends.
