Reverend Peter Joseph Wilson, most known as Pete, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in his home, at the age of 79.
Pete was born in Kansas City, KS on September 26, 1939 to Wesley and Willa Mae Wilson. He was a minister of the Gospel and Pastor since 1961. He was ordained with several organizations throughout the years, including the Assemblies of God.
He married Jeanettte Tomc July 3,1957. Together they have seven children, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Pete was an exceptional, Godly man who loved the Lord. He dearly loved his precious wife and his family. His extraordinary love for others touched and impacted everyone around him. God gave him a magnetic personality and a gift of reaching out to bless others. He would joyfully go out of his way to encourage and help meet anyone's need before his own. He fearlessly shared Jesus to strangers and everyone. His life of prayer, fasting, faithfulness and trust in God was consistent and powerful. He carried the Word everywhere with him and could quote many scriptures, chapter and verse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wes, John, Victor; two sisters, Dorothy and Stella and one grandson, Ryan.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette of 62 years; four daughters, Carrie and Mike Denney, Sherrie and Don Hartford, Anette and Tim Adcox, Renee and Mike Halverson; three sons, Pete Jr., Mark, and Tim and Nicole; five sisters, Mary Alice, Sheila, Sue, Annie, Willetta; three brothers, Jim, Toby and Tom; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was truly an example of Jesus and has left a great legacy.
Visitation on Tues. from 11am-1pm at City Center Church with funeral service to immediately follow. Burial at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee, KS.
