Richard "Dick" Henley Floersch, 74, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020, at his home in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born to the late Bob and Jane Floersch, on October 22, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri. Dick graduated from Galesburg (Illinois) High School in 1964 and received a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1968. He married the late Patricia Ann Patton in 1968. They lived together in Overland Park and raised two sons.
Dick was survived by his wife of Pat of 52 years; and is survived by their two children, Christopher Edward Floersch, and Douglas James Floersch and wife Laura; 3 grandchildren Joey, Parker, and Ian; four brothers and two sisters: Bill and wife Alice; Bob and wife Jill; Jim and wife Pat; Don and wife Deb; Janet and husband Jim; Carol and husband Tony; his nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.
Dick worked his entire career of 38 years as an engineer for Honeywell. He was heavily involved in Youth Sports including basketball, baseball, and his passion, football. He enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, reading, and mentoring the youth of America. He enjoyed being an involved father, loyal friend, and dedicated husband. His laugh and positive attitude were infectious to anyone around him. He uplifted everyone with his sense of humor.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 1-3pm, at the Floersch Ranch, 25320 W. 131st Street, Olathe, Kansas 66061. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Kansas City Football and Cheerleading, Inc. 15030 W 106th St, Lenexa KS 66215.
