Richard E. Marx, Sr.

Richard (Dickie) Marx, Sr., 78, of Shawnee, KS passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 14th, 2021.  He was born to Joseph and Edna Marx (Gangel) on January 10th, 1943 in Kansas City, MO.  Richard is best remembered for his love of his family, athletic ability, gardening and fishing.  He will be forever missed at the family gatherings.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph & John; sisters, Edna & Rosemarie.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Marx (Dobbels); children, Richard (Nanette) Marx, Jr, Daniel (Loriann) Marx, Donald (Sabra) Marx, Gina (William) Vinyard; grandchildren, Dickie, Katie (Mike), Maggie (Ben), Allison, Luke, Logan (Callie), Lance, Jake (Sarah), Brooke, Dakota; great-grandchildren, Mikey, Margie, Mack and Henry; sisters, Judy, Connie, Sandy & Dolores; and brother, Jim.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at Amos Family Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.  A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM.  Due to Covid, please be aware Amos Funeral Home can only accommodate 45 people in their chapel at a time during the visitation.  Following the visitation, Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 AM.  Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
