Richard “Rick” William Stuart

October 3, 1944 — September 5, 2019

Rick Stuart, passed away September 5, 2019 at the age of 74. He was born to BJ and Doris Nettles October 3, 1944. Following his father’s death, Jack Stuart became his stepfather in 1953. After graduating from Coronado, California High School, he studied at Orange Coast College and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. Rick and Linda Patrick were married August 1, 1970 in Carbondale, Illinois. He and Linda had two sons, Mark and Mike and made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. Rick worked in wine and liquor sales, as a TSA Security Supervisor at KCI airport, and as a Night Manager at the Great Wolf Lodge. After retiring in 2007, Rick enjoyed one of his favorite hobbies, reading and collecting WWII books and memorabilia. He enjoyed hanging out with his sons and their families and helping with any of their projects at home. He loved being with his grandchildren and was an active and fun loving grandpa they looked forward to seeing. He loved riding his motorcycle, traveling, camping, and boating. He enjoyed life and thrived on making others happy. He was a witty, creative, and unique man who was loved very much and will be forever missed.

Rick Is survived by his wife, Linda; Sons, Mark (Amy Antrim) Overland Park and Mike (Heather) Kansas City, KS; Daughter, Kimberly Delgado (Scott), Chula Vista, CA; Sisters, Nancy Schatz McLean, VA, Marjorie Eisert San Marcos, CA and Sally Stuart Texarkana, TX; Grandchildren -Sophia, Elowyn, Nolan, Lauren, Connor; Many nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to The Aneurysm & AVM Foundation Down Syndrome Guild of Kansas City. Special thanks to the staff of KU Medical - ICU Cambridge Building.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday at Resurrection Cemetery.
