Richard Norman Wilms

Richard Norman Wilms, 59, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

Richard was born March 7, 1953, in Newton, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. Richard was employed with the US Army at Fort Leavenworth. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Richard is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeanne Wilms; daughter, Julie (John) Keogh, Lenexa, Kansas; son, Jeffrey Wilms, Manhattan, Kansas; parents, Norman and Clarene Wilms, Topeka, Kansas; and three brothers, Jim (Lisa) Wilms, Dave (Shellie) Wilms, and Ron Wilms.

Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church, Shawnee, Kansas; burial in the Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
