Rita I. Wild, 76, Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park, KS.

Rita was born Oct. 8, 1937 in Lyons, KS to Fay and Hattie Thompson, She was a 1956 graduate of Lyons High School and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchison, KS. On May 29, 1958 Rita married William D. Wild at the Zion Lutheran Church, Lyons, KS. Rita was a bookkeeper for various companies, most recently Seaboard Farms in Merriam, KS. She was a longtime member of the Hope Lutheran Church. Rita enjoyed camping at Pamona Lake with family and friends for over 37 years.

Rita is survived by her husband, William D. Wild; three daughters, Carla Sue Wild, Topeka, KS, Karol Wild, Kansas City, KS and Kelly (Ray) Pettigrew, Shawnee, KS; five grandchildren, Taylor Wild, Jaimee Wild, Karlee Wild, Nathan Pettigrew and Nick Pettigrew; and great granddaughter, Trinity Irene Wild.

Memorial Service and Visitation

A memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 26 at the Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivira, Shawnee, KS 66216. Visitation will be 1-2:00 pm Saturday at the church. Inurnment in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, KS.
