Robert Bronaugh

Robert W. Bronaugh, 78, of Lawrence, formerly of Merriam, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010, at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born September 27, 1932, to the late Lorren and Mary Bronaugh in Frankfort, Kansas.

After graduating from high school Robert attended Kansas State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration in 1955. On September 9, 1956, he married Beverly Frey in St. Joseph, Missouri.

After college Robert went to work for W.T Grant where he became a Manager. Later he ran Sturgeon Linen Company until 1987, when he went to work for IBT until his retirement in 2003. Robert was a former member of Shawnee City Council in 1971-72. He was also an active member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church, where he volunteered with the Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly; two daughters, Mari White and husband Ray, and Lori Bronaugh; son Robin Bronaugh and wife Rita; 2 brothers, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Hospice Team, 200 Main Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66044.

Services

Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
