Robert Earl Bruns, 67, of Spring Hill, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Bob was born July 24, 1948 to the late Lewis and Carol Bruns in St. Joseph, MO. Bob attended Lafayette High School and earned an Associate's and Bachelor's degree from DeVry University. Bob worked as a communications technician for AT&T for over 16 years. He was a member of the AT&T Pioneers and supported the United Way.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Susan; a daughter Randi S. Patterson and husband Jeffrey; two sons, Timothy Bruns and wife Andrea; BJ Bruns; adopted son, Simon North; step-daughter, Kendra Vail-Scheesley and husband Doug; four grandsons, Patrick Bruns; Mason Patterson; Marshall Patterson; Stiles Bruns; a granddaughter, Janie Bruns; a sister, Joyce Leighton-Floyd and husband Al; two brothers, Richard Bruns and wife Marilyn; Gene Bruns and wife Mary Beth and brother in law, Gary Hinkle. Bob is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hinkle and stepson, Billy Vail.

Visitation and Memorial Contributions

Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the United Way; 801 W. 47th Street, Ste. 500; Kansas City, MO 64112.
