Robert Vincent Cain was promoted to heaven in the afternoon of August 24th. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend, he will be remembered forever in our hearts.
Bob was born July 8, 1955 to Rush and Mary Margaret (Shepard) Cain in Terre Haute, Indiana. He graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 1973 where he participated in jazz and marching band. Bob continued his education at Indiana State University and later, Findlay Engineering College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked on a variety of interesting projects during his career including power plants, small conveyors, automotive production lines, sports arenas and assisting the decommissioning of Sunflower Ammunition Plant. Bob was currently employed as a Planning Technician for the Planning and Development Services Department for the City of Overland Park, Kansas.
Always smiling and happy with an encouraging hug for others, Bob was ready to offer help to family and friends. He was looking forward to retirement. His plans included time fishing, carving, traveling and maybe raising a few cows.

Two nieces, Alison Snell and Hannah Kidd and one nephew, Evan Cain also survive. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one nephew, Nathaniel Gerber.
