Robert “Bob” Clipsham

November 2, 1929 — February 8, 2013

Robert B. Clipsham is now at peace with his Heavenly Savior having passed on Friday, February 8, 2013.

Bob was born November 2, 1929, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to George Frederick and Helene Louise (Lees) Clipsham. Bob attended Hitchin Grammar School in Welwyn City, England. He then attended Howe Military Academy in Howe, Indiana, and Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He moved to Kansas City after graduating from Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Being the entrepreneur he was, he not only started one business but two. In 1959 he formed Fusion Incorporated, a manufacturer's representative agency. Then in 1970 he formed Disposable Instrument Company, a manufacturer of metal surgical components.

Bob is a long standing member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife Sandy (Sandra A. Sherman); sons Dr. Robert C. (Priscilla), Sean, Mark (Dr. Joan Cunnick), and Caleb (Lisa); daughter, Eden Weber (Dr. David); two stepsons Darin Chansky and Brian Chansky (Dr. Rebecca Burfeind); seven grandchildren, Zachary, Maia, Avery, Arlo Clipsham, Mercedes Weber, Bennett and Alana Chansky; brother, Neil B.(Jean) of North Wales, Pennsylvania; sister, Jacqueline Ann of Califon, New Jersey; 2 nephews and 2 great nieces.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks for the loving care Bob received at Sweet Life Rosehill.

Bob will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 64th & Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial to follow in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held following the burial at the Colchester Court Clubhouse, 12505 W. 85th Terrace, Lenexa, Kansas.

Donations may be made to Wabash College, 301 W. Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933.
