Robert L. Cobb, 89, of Shawnee, KS passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014.

Bob was born July 16, 1924 to the late Fred and Regina Cobb in Mayview, Missouri. He was drafted into the U.S. Army just out of high school and served as a Sergeant with the Signal Corps during World War II. He served two years in Panama. After returning from the service he married Lorene Owens in Kansas City, MO on June 19, 1948.

Bob was an independent driver for Phillips Petroleum Company for many years. Later Bob went to work as a Machinist for Ted's Manufacturing in Shawnee and retired in 1989. Bob was a former member of Shawnee United Methodist Church, Shawnee Optimist Club. He also served as the Assistant Boy Scout Master for Troop 93.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and son in-law, Jerrald Colstrom.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Cobb; his son, Robert B. Cobb; a daughter Deborah K. Colstrom; two grandchildren, Laura Evins and husband Josh; Matthew Cobb and wife Stacy; two great granddaughters, Avery and Peyton; a sister, Donna Jennings and family.

Visitation, Services and Contributions

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29 at the funeral home, burial will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Lane Health Services, 10315 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203.
