Robert Newton Craig

Robert Newton Craig, 89, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Robert was born May 8, 1922, to Victor and Edith Craig. He graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and was employed as a hydrologist with the Weather Bureau for 38 years. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of many clubs, including the KC Chuggers and the Plain Ol’ A’s.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian and son, James Craig. Survivors include his two sons, Richard Craig, Reston, Virginia and John Craig, Ocean, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Andrew Craig and Madelyn Craig, both of Ocean, New Jersey.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the chapel followed by cremation. There will be a reception following the funeral.
