ROBERT "BOB" JOSEPH MOONEY

Robert "Bob" Joseph Mooney, 77, passed away May 3, 2018 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Bob was born June 5, 1940 in Kansas City, KS, son of the late Edward L. Mooney and Alice M. (Blackwell) Mooney.  He was a 1958 graduate of Wyandotte High School and attended the University of Kansas, graduating from UMKC in 1969.  Bob enlisted in the USNR and served aboard the anti-submarine aircraft carriers USS Valley Forge and USS Randolph.  Bob worked in the tax field for Western Auto Supply Co. and Sprint North Supply, where he retired in 2001.  He leaves behind his beloved wife Linda; his daughters Suzanne Goodson and husband Joe; Melanie Blackmore and husband Darrin; a son, Eric McCollom and wife Camellia; brother, Larry E. Mooney and wife Linda; 6 grandchildren: Sarah Goodson, Trey Goodson, Quinn McCollom, Shelby Hudson, Chase McCollom and Bethany Blackmore; a niece, Sandy Wright; a grandniece, Tabitha Davis and grandnephew Noah Davis and wife Sarah.  Bob is also preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Lee Wright.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West, 24000 West Valley Parkway, Olathe, KS 66061.  A Celebration of Bob's life will follow the visitation at 11 a.m.
