Robert Scott Rose

April 25, 1948 — November 4, 2018

Robert Scott Rose, 70, Lenexa, Ks., died peacefully Nov. 4, 2018, at Kansas City Hospice House. Scott was born April 25, 1948, in Madison, Wis., to Robert Jay Rose and Dorothy Glaettli Rose. He moved with his family to Overland Park in 1954, and then to Lenexa (the land that is now Sar-Ko-Par Park) in 1959. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West HS in 1966, where he ran cross country. In 1971, Scott received a BS degree from Pittsburg State University. During the years, he worked for the city of Lenexa, Sears (20 years), and Seasonal Concepts. He was an active member of the Lenexa United Methodist Church for 58 years. Scott loved his Gorillas, the Chicago Cubs, Shawnee Mission Northwest cross country, fishing, and soccer. He had a large collection of toy soldiers of the Napoleonic era.  Scott was predeceased by his father Robert, and sisters Barbara Rose Hilton and Susan Rose. He is survived by his mother Dorothy, Lenexa, and siblings John (Verna) Rose, Lenexa; Van (Judy) Rose, Shawnee; Peggy Rose, Kansas City, Mo.; Jim (Patty) Rose, Rochester, Minn.; 12 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews, and Tiny, his cat. Scott was a kind and generous son, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Kansas City Hospice for their kind and gentle care.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 10, 2018, at Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Rd., Lenexa, KS, 66215, followed by a luncheon. Private Inurnment at Lenexa Cemetery.
