Robert C. Russell

Robert C. Russell, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away June 12, 2012.

Robert was born April 20, 1924, in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1942. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Robert was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart Emma Slobodnik in 1947. In 1952, Robert along with his brother Norman opened the Barbershop in Shawnee. Robert was a proud member of the Shawnee Sertoma Club, American Legion Post #327, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Emma Russell. He is survived by his brother Norman Russell, four sons, two daughter-in-laws and three granddaughters.

A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012, the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, Kansas. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
