Robert W. Tolman

Robert W. Tolman, 70, of Shawnee passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Shawnee Gardens.

Robert was born November 1, 1940 to the late Leon and Esther Tolman in Fort Covington, New York. Robert earned an Associates Degree from the University of New York. On July 11, 1964 he married Jane Moore in Mansfield, Ohio.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jane; three sons, Frederick Tolman and wife Maureen, Albert Tolman and wife Beth, Steven Tolman and wife Kristen; a sister, Pat Rubira; and seven grandchildren, Michael, Robbie, Melissa, Sarah, Matthew, Alexander, and Hunter.

The family wants to express their sincere gratitude for the care and compassion that the EUR Staff at Shawnee Gardens and Catholic Community Hospice provided.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics of Kansas 5280 Foxridge Drive; Mission, KS 66202 or to the Catholic Community Hospice, 9740 W. 87th St.; Overland Park KS 66212.
