Robert “Bob” Zickefoose

Robert Charles (Bob) Zickefoose, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home in Shawnee, Kansas.

Bob was born February 10, 1933, to Charles (Chuck) and Freda Zickefoose in Emporia, Kansas. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1951.

Bob served in the US Navy from 1952-1954, before returning to Emporia to attend Emporia State Teachers College, where he graduated in 1957. He married Lela Phillips in 1956.

In 1959, Bob began a 35 year career at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob retired from Hallmark in 1994, as Director of Operations Planning, and as a very well respected and beloved member of the Hallmark family.

Bob's greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends duck hunting and fishing at his lake house in Welda, Kansas.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lela; son, Greg Zickefoose; son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Wendy Zickefoose; daughter and son-in-law Alyson and Larry Hisky; grandchildren, Dillon, Logan, Madison, Marina, and Hunter. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, also at the funeral home; burial to follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, Kansas.
