Roberta "Bobbi" Jo (Chamberlain) Landreth, 68, Belton, Missouri, born August 1, 1948, passed away, July 20, 2017, at home, due to complications from juvenile onset diabetes. Roberta was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert L. Chamberlain and
Jo Nan (Moore) Chamberlain. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1966. She was a member of the National Honor Society. When she was a senior there was a citywide competition for secretarial skills - which resulted in her gaining a job at Gulf Oil Corporation after graduation. August 15, 1970, she married Austin L. Landreth. In 1972 she was employed by Smith and Boucher Engineers as a secretary. With the split of Smith and Boucher, she advanced with Energy Masters Corporation as corporate secretary; ending her career at Energy Masters as corporate secretary and project monitoring manager. She was active in NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) culminating in holding the office of president of the Kansas City Chapter in 1983 - and afterward remaining as NAWIC's parliamentarian. She possessed leadership skills that transferred into many aspects of her life, including working on various committees with Mason Memorial United Methodist Church. In her retirement she loved cooking, gardening, shopping for antiques, and being at home with her canine children, of which there were many. Roberta was a dog lover. She and Austin took in many strays to enrich their lives. She also loved spending time with her family. Her guidance and wise counsel in the family will be missed.
She is survived by her husband Austin of 46 years; her mother Jo Nan Gorski, Belton, Missouri; sister Nancy (Chamberlain) Johnson and Greg, Ensenada, Mexico; brother Robert Chamberlain and Shirley (Latham), Kopperl, Texas; brother Jon Chamberlain and Cynthia (Megee), Overland Park, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father Robert L. Chamberlain 1973 and infant son Craig Dallas Landreth, 1971.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Church of the Resurrection Wesley Chapel 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS.
