Roger L. Conrad, 71, of Shawnee, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 11th 2015 at his home.
Roger was born April 14, 1944 in Bremen, Indiana. He earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Military Police Officer during the Korean War. Roger worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for Safeway and Sysco for 23 years before retiring in January of 2013. He enjoyed being outside tending to his garden and working on his yard. He looked forward to family vacations at Linn Valley Lakes. Roger taught Sunday school for over 30 years and was an active member of New Hope Christian Fellowship. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, father, grandpa and papa.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Joel Woodworth. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, B. Anne Conrad; two sons, Stephen J. Woodworth and wife Tricia; Christopher Roger Conrad and wife Elise; a daughter, Julie A. Chatelain and husband Bob; three grandsons, Alex Degenhardt, Jeffrey Degenhardt, Kenny Salsig; two granddaughters, Mady Woolfolk-Conrad; Heather Woodworth; a brother, Donald Conrad and wife Sally; two sisters, Carol Middlebrook and Delores Smith.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 8200 Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66111.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church.
