Ronald A. Hoffman, 78, Fairway, Kansas, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2009, at Bishop Spencer Place in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ron was born April 21, 1931 to Hoyt and Claire Hoffman in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Westport High School and attended Kansas City University (UMKC). Ron served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his time in the service Ron married Martha Walker, in Osawatomie, Kansas. He was an honorary alumnus of Baker University and a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinphonia. Ron retired from Midwest Research Institute as an Accountant after 40 years of service.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Jan Glavas. Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Martha, three sons Steven Hoffman, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Stuart Hoffman and wife Anne, Fairway, Kansas, Scott and wife Catherine, Shawnee, Kansas; a brother, Dale Hoffman and wife Marilyn, Palos Verdes Estates, California; five grandchildren, Wesley and Meghan Hoffman, Winfield, Kansas, Riley and Parker Hoffman, Fairway, Kansas, and Griffith Hoffman, Shawnee, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Layke, Chloe, and Addison all of Winfield, Kansas; and an aunt, Voncille Hoffman, Overland Park, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to a charity of the donors choice.

Visitation Services

A memorial visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A private memorial service will be held.
