Ronald Wayne Schulteis

February 12, 1952 — March 5, 2021

Ronald (Ron) Wayne Schulteis found peace on March 5 after a year of battling cancer, but his life was defined by the good times, not his last chapter. Growing up as one of six kids, he knew how to joke and wrestle with the best of them, though he couldn't sing a lick he loved telling his story about being rejected by the glee club. He loved his parents deeply and always enjoyed spending time with them and working hard down on the farm. Ron had one of the best days of his life 50 years ago when he met his sweetheart, Donna Pritchard. They raised four independent daughters who enjoy the small things in life and are courteous to those around them. Ron loved his grandkids Dominic, Isla, Kora Rose, and Patrick dearly and lit up every time they were around him. Friends brought him such joy and they knew he was always ready to gab and recount good times. Ron loved to laugh, do taxes, tell stories, play and coach softball, brag about his family, go to Royals games, and be at the farm. If you are missing him, sit outside, crack open a beer, grab a fishing pole, or stop and smell the roses, but don't cry too much. As he would say, "life is good."

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Reinhart Schulteis, and his sister, Carolyn Weiss. He is survived by his wife, Donna Schulteis, four daughters Gretchen Hughes, Lisa Schulteis, Keri Schulteis, Rachel (and John) Hodgson, four grandkids Dominic Strohm, Rosie Strohm, Isla Hughes, Patrick Hodgson, his mother, Martha Schulteis, siblings Ed Schulteis, Dave (and Debbie) Schulteis, Bill (and Brenda) Schulteis, Kathy (and Jim) Caputo, brother-in-law Dick Weiss, all of their kids and many more relatives and friends.
