Ronald passed away surrounded by family and friends April 17, 2017 at the Olathe Hospice House.

Ronald Francis True was born October 25, 1928 in Kansas City, Kansas and lived his entire life in Merriam, Kansas.  Ronald married Dora Ann Hall, the love of his life for 67 years, on June 16, 1950.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Ronald worked for the Frisco-Burlington Northern Railroad from 1950-1990.

During retirement, Ronald enjoyed helping others, gardening, woodworking and time spent with grandchildren.  Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Stella True, and his sister Bobbie Joyce Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Dora Ann and children Roni Schwartz (Donald) and Donna Mages (William).  Ronald adored his grandchildren Aaron Schwartz (Kristen), Sarah Connors (Daniel), Rebekah Schultz (Travis) and his great-grandchildren Tru Masterson, Avery Schwartz, Brendon and Owen Conners.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 5:30-8:30 pm Friday, April 21, with Family Remembrances at 7 p.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.  Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at West Haven Baptist Church; 1000 West St., Tonganoxie, KS. Burial with military honors will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Olathe Hospice House, 5310 S Marion St, Olathe, KS 66061; or to Honduras Well Fund, c/o West Haven Baptist Church.
