Ronnie S. Deringer, 56, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
Ronnie was born November 10, 1956, to Harry And Pauline Deringer in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of Shawnee Mission Northwest class of 1975. After graduating high school Ronnie joined the Missouri National Guard and served for eight years. Ronnie was a commercial truck driver for over 37 years, he worked for several companies in the metro area including Love Box and for the last twelve years he drove for Victory Packaging. Ronnie always enjoyed helping others and volunteered a lot of his time with the Trails West Special Olympics as a Coach and Chaperone. He was recently selected to represent the state of Missouri at the National Special Olympics to be held in Princeton, New Jersey, this coming June. Ronnie loved supporting the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, as well as the KU Jayhawks.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline; his father in law, Jim Robertson; a sister in law, Lynn Peters and her husband Dennis.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Jan Robertson-Deringer; his father, Harry Deringer; two brothers, Mark Deringer and wife Ann, and Kerry Deringer and wife Sherrie; a sister, Vickie Mackie and husband Don; mother in law, L'Marie Robertson; sister in law, Leann Taylor and husband Dennis; brother in law, Evan Robertson and wife Jody; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the funeral home with burial following at Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trails West Special Olympics-KCMO, 9001 W. 67th Street, Merriam, Kansas 66202.
