Rosalie Jata

Rosalie Ann Jata, 85, passed away on June 22, 2023.

She was born on February 6, 1938 to Louis and Marie Smreker in Hartman, Arkansas.

She started her career in Kansas City at Western Auto. Rosalie then met the love of her life, Daniel Jata, and the two were married in Kansas City, Kansas. While working, she started a family and had two children, Sharon and Christopher. Eventually, Rosalie moved onto working as a receptionist for different medical and attorney offices. Rosalie and Danny were very proud and loving parents and grandparents. They always made people feel loved and welcome at their home. She was a talented baker and enjoyed spending time in her garden with her flowers.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Lorraine Davis, Lillian Jones, Louie Smreker, and Donald Smreker; and her beloved husband of 38 years, Danny.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Frank) Conklin, and Christopher (Stacey) Jata; siblings Marilyn Hawkins and Alice Smreker; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am at Queen of the Holy Rosary, with Mass to begin at 10:30am. She will be laid to rest next to Danny at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, KS following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in honor of Rosalie may be made to Sister Servants of Mary, and St. Luke’s Hospice House.
