Rose Ann Van Hoet

Rose Ann Van Hoet, age 95, of Shawnee, Kansas went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2023.

Our loving mother was born on August 8, 1928, in Kansas City, Kansas to James and Antonia (Lustig) Kaizar. She was raised, along with her three sisters, by her parents in a Slovenian speaking household. She married Frank C. Van Hoet on February 5, 1955, at Holy Family Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Rose Ann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (Shawnee, Kansas) and Daughters of Isabella. She retired from the Gerson Company. She was proud of her Slovenian heritage and enjoyed dancing and listening to polkas and waltzes that featured a strong accordion sound. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals, KU basketball, and any team her children or grandchildren played on.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Van Hoet, and sisters Agatha (Kaizar) Wolf, Lucille (Sister Mary Daniel) Kaizar and Mary (Kaizar) Meyers. She is survived by her seven children, Frank C. Van Hoet, Jr, Geralyn Van Hoet, Gerard (Diana) Van Hoet, James Van Hoet, Germaine Van Hoet, Gerise (Timothy) Lacny and Daniel (Cathy) Van Hoet; two grandchildren Camial (Tanner) Bredehoeft, Gabrielle Van Hoet; one great-granddaughter Emerson Bredehoeft, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Her children and grandchildren feel so grateful to have had such a wonderful loving role model.  She will be forever missed.

The visitation will take place at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, Kansas 66203, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 pm on October 12, 2023. A rosary will be prayed before the visitation at 5:45pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive Shawnee, Kansas 66203, at 10:00 am on October 13, 2023. Rose will be laid to rest next to her husband, Frank, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shawnee.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Johnson County Developmental Services, or to the Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King.
