Rosemary Smiley

Rosemary Smiley, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away February 27, 2012.

Rosemary was born August 20, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Augustus E. and Rose (Putthoff) Hewitt. She was a devoted member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for more than 50 years and volunteered with many charities throughout her life.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Vincent Smiley. She is survived by her children, Rick, Cheri, Tish, Tom, Peggy, and Mary, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister Bernie Bernhardt.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory where a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
