Ross A. Burd

Ross A. Burd, DVM, of Olathe, Kansas, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on December 5, 2012.

Ross was born April 1, 1958, in Casper, Wyoming. He was a 1976 graduate of Natrona County High School. He went on to get his B.S. and Masters from University of Wyoming. Ross received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University.

Ross dedicated his life to the well being of small animals. He purchased Oxford Animal Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas, and built into a thriving hospital with a dedicated staff. Ross was also a breeder of golden retrievers. Ross raised many beautiful golden retrievers over the past 20 years. He had also added the King Charles Cavalier breed to his kennel.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents, Ross, Sr. and Helen Burd and his brothers Randy and Gerald. He is survived by one sister, Cathy. He leaves behind many friends, who admired his compassion to animals and his commitment to medicine.
