Roxanne Obrien

Roxie was born on May 29, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert and Virginia Stephan. She was extremely devoted to her family, her church and her friends. When Roxie was not hosting a fantastic party or family function, she was attending one or planning the next one. She traveled the world, but especially loved to travel to Colorado and Medjugorje. She had wonderful careers as a teacher in Portland, Oregon and Chicago, Illinois, and a real estate broker with Jay's Real Estate and Prudential Summerson Burrows in the Kansas City area. She was also involved in CASA and many other volunteer and charitable activities.

Roxie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. O'Brien, her sisters, Patty and Ginger, and her parents. Roxie is survived by her children, Mary Virginia O'Brien (Michael) of Lancaster, NY, Patricia Ingraham (Jim) of Lenexa, KS, Elizabeth O'Brien of Long Beach, MS, Bridget Rodriguez (Jerry) of Kirkwood, MO, Julia Moritz (Steve) of Overland Park, KS, and Richard O'Brien (Zoe) of Louisville, CO; her grandchildren, James Ingraham (Lindsey), Richard Ingraham (Corinne), Stephen Moritz (Melissa), Kathleen Ingraham, Patricia Lohr, Kristin Moritz, Rebecca Ingraham, Peter Rodriguez (Jessica), Suzanne Lohr, Joseph Rodriguez, Julia Lawson, Michael Moritz, Hallie Ingraham, Gwynith O'Brien and Kiera O'Brien; her great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Moritz, James Ingraham, Samuel Ingraham, and Kate Rodriguez; and her sisters Penny and Mary.

Family and friends will gather at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd Street, Overland Park, KS, on Friday, October 3, 2014 to celebrate the life of Roxanne O'Brien, 84, who passed away on September 24, 2014. Visitation and Rosary will be at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Private burial. The family invites everyone to attend a luncheon at the Church following Mass.
