Roy Eugene Hauk, 92, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away January 30th, 2022
A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Roy was born February 19th, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas to John W. Hauk and Bertha Evelyn Hauk. He was the third of their five children.
Roy grew up in Muncie, near Turner. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. He served for a time in the United States Naval Reserves, where he ended as a petty officer, first class. He then went on to work for Phillips Oil Refinery in Kansas City until it closed. He was a member of the Mason Gardner Lodge #65 for 54 years. After his final retirement, he stared working part time for Heritage Park Golf Course.
Roy enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was always there to help those he loved.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings John Hauk, Robert Hauk, Anita Douglas and Charles Hauk, and his son Steven E. Hauk.
He is survived by his grandson’s Tim, David and Matt Hauk of Oregon, daughter-in-law Rosemary Hauk of Nevada, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews who reside mostly in the Kansas City area.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
