Ruby Newell Sparks Jones, age 106 of Merriam, KS left to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, June 20, 2014. Ruby died peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Jones, Sr., and three children, Paul Rhodes, Wanda Asher, and Kenneth Jones. She is survived by her children, Louise Grubb, Houston, TX, Nadine Nelson, Merriam, KS, Allene Champ, Lenexa, KS, Pauline Sheeley, Lenexa, KS, Gaylon Jones, Foley, AL, Carl Jones, Lawrence, KS, Ann Zauke, Overland Park, KS, and Vernon Jones, Overland Park, KS. Also surviving are her 27 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.Funeral and Graveside Services

Visitation will be 4-6:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 23 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at the Virgil District Cemetery, Virgil, KS.
