Ruby J. Perdue

Ruby Joan Perdue, 80, of Overland Park, KS passed away on April 23rd, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Mildred DeMois and granddaughter to John and Johanna Staus. She was born in Sedalia, MO on November 13th, 1940 and graduated from Cole Camp High School in 1959.

On March 19th, 1960, she happily married Ira B. Perdue III. Ruby was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was an avid gardener, an accomplished artist and woodcarver. Ruby loved to travel and had a soft spot for her home in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Ruby held various positions of employment throughout her life including Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Marcus J. Lawrence Medical Center, Hallmark, Western Auto and Montgomery Ward. Ruby was previously a Johnson County Election Judge and a volunteer for Hospice House. Ruby also had a love for animals throughout her life, especially dogs and birds.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home on Friday, April 30th. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm also at Amos Family Funeral Home.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ira. She is survived by her son, John Perdue (Stacia) of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Anita Perdue of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Sarah Mann (Mike) of DeSoto, KS; grandsons, James and Tyler; granddaughters, Erica and Emily; sister, Mildred DeMois of Sedalia, MO and brother-in-law, Jerry Perdue of Claycomo, MO.
